The work presents a brief historical sketch of the Pali grammatical tradition and introduces three Pali, grammars viz. the Kaccāyanappakaraṇa, the Saddanīti and the Moggallāna Vyākaraṇa along with the three Sanskrit grammars viz. the Aṣṭādhyāyī, the Kātantra Vyākaraṇa and the Cāndra Vyākaraṇa.
